Pamper the Parents (Westmead Children's Hospital)

Images from the 4th annual Pamper the Parents day at Westmead Children's Hospital. The amazing Nikki from Cassidy's of Harbord (at Freshwater) organises this annual day for the parents (and children) at the hospital. Hairdressers, beauty therapists, healthcare practitioners, food vendors, entertainers and others volunteer their time and donate some serious product to bring pampering to the Mums and Dads at the hospital who otherwise would just never get the time. Some parents spend months on end at the hospital and find no time at all for themselves. Getting a simple haircut is a luxury to many.

The highlight for me was visiting the wards along with the clowns who gave out fabulous pamper packs to parents of sick children who weren't able to come outside.

Proceeds from the day, and other related initiatives that Nicki is involved with, raises money for Bear Cottage in Manly, a truly wonderful center and home providing palliative care, temporary respite, end of life care and bereavement support.
